Just when you think that life is done throwing surprises your way...another one comes along and trumps it all.
I got up at 5:30 this morning, to take Dakota into the vet for her surgery. I was thanking God when I looked at the Paypal donations before we left, because it was two dollars over the exact amount we would need for the surgery. I prayed for enough money to get Dakota's surgery and God sure did deliver! There was something else that was weighing on my mind, however. Last night, Dakota had a regular bowel movement and I found that very odd, since she's had diarrhea for the past 5 days. Something told me to have them do another x-ray before they opened her up.
I know that the vet assured me that the object would not pass and I had seen the picture of it in her stomach. It did not look small enough to pass, so I believed him. I could not shake the feeling that I should still have them do another x-ray. So I asked for one and they said they would do it and call me with the results. Two hours later, the vet called with news.
For some unexplained reason...the object is gone! I don't know when she passed it, because we have been checking all bowel movements in hopes that God would allow it to pass. I ran outside and checked everywhere for a missed stool with the mystery object. I cannot find anything. All I know is that miracles do happen and I am thrilled to say that Dakota will not need surgery after all!
I will be refunding every one of the donations, today. I am so grateful for all of the love and generosity of our friends and even strangers! It pleases me more than words can express to be able to give it back with a big hug attached! You will never know how much your prayers and support meant to us. I tear up every time I think about it. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart :) I encourage you all to take the refunded money and do something nice for someone else who may be in need of a little help! This world can always use some extra kindness and I would love nothing more than to know that the money helped to spread some around!! :)
