Forgive me, readers, for I am about to sin. I am going to give you a preemptive confession so that I don't feel so bad after Wednesday. I am going to (mumbling quickly under my breath) ....see the NewKidsOnTheBlock. There I said it. I'm a New Kids dork who, after all these years, will plunk down $45 to see them sing "The Right Stuff" and "Hanging' Tough" from so damn far away that it could pretty much be 5 Asian cross dressers lip syncing to the songs and I wouldn't know the diff.
Why am I spending the money to see people who still call them selves "New Kids" when they should probably be changing it to "Old Farts?" I am going because I feel entitled, that's why. My mom refused to let me go see them when I was in junior high and I felt truly jipped. I was enamored with Jordan and I would have given anything to see them in concert. Even though it is fifteen years later, I am not missing the chance that I should have had back then!
Some other good things about going:
- A work free night out. Let's face it, putting on Ladies' Night is a job, not happy fun time...right Cherish? :)
- Can you say "Party Bus?" Oh yesssss....my sister and her youngster girl friends are big time party girls and rented a huge party bus. Too bad I will be sober. Ok...two beers, but nothing more!
- My friend Nancy gets to go with us and she cracks me up. Plus...I wont feel like the only old lady in our group if Nancy is with us, because she's over twenty eight too!
- I need to get away for a little bit and train myself not to get anxiety over it. Usually being away from the kids and home makes me anxious and stressed. I need to work on that.
So anyway...that is where I will be on Wednesday. If after reading the above, you are disgusted with me...I understand. It is just something I really have to do. I will not, however, EVER stoop as low as going to see Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch (well....maybe if he only wears his Calvin Kleins!)

First off THANK YOU for commenting on my blog. I have so not been feeling the love lately!
Second......are we long lost sisters??? My mom would let me go see NKOTB either even though every single one of my friends got to go see them! If they ever come round here I am SO going to see them...I don't care what row I am in..its about damn time lol!
LMAO........I just read the part about Marky Mark and I sooo agree!!!!!!!
I am soooo jealous! I would LOVE to see the New Kids, and I will even admit I thought Marky Mark was hot back then. Have a great time!
Woohoo! I am jealous as well!!! Hope you have sooo much fun!
My father took me to see NKOTB when I was little and it was the best. That was my first concert. My poor dad. He is a huge Tampa Bay Buccaneer fan and he has had season tix since like '82 and he has not missed a game in all these years I don't think, except for that game b/c he took me to the concert. He still wore his headphones and tried to listen to the game! Whatta dad! Jordan was my fave too! I don't think I could go now though, nor do I like their new songs, but I won't hold it against you! Have fun!
I would so go. Have fun and take lots of pictures.

I was going to go see them here in New Orleans but no one would go with me LOL. I seen them twice in concert about 15 years ago. Jordon was my man also LOL.
OMG! I also am VERY jealous!!! NKOTB was my first concert too... I was 8! my Mom was the best and bought me tickets for my B-Day! (Thanks Mom!) and I also LOVED Jordan... If they come around here, my BFF and I are soooo going! So the only reason you should feel bad is because you get to see them and the rest of us don't! ;)
Hey Kadi~ My cousins and friends just went to the show in Cleveland on Friday. They all said it was AWESOME!!! So have fun and enjoy! Let us know how it was!
Enjoy !
I am SO JEALOUS!! I double dog dare you to wear pegged jeans, layer two different colored socks, rock some big bangs and a side ponytail! I mean if we are going way back to the good old days lets really play the part. Have fun and your not alone. I cry everytime I leave Taylor and my home to go out. Its ridiculous!
Oh good, I feel so much better now! I will have fun and you know I wll be taking pics :)
OH OH OH I'm soooo jealouse. I did go when we were in Jr. high and it was amazing... Oh how I loved Donnie (I can't believe that I don't remember how to spell his name after all the years of his poster hanging on the wall next to my bed) You HAVE to dress the 80's part - with big hair, two pairs of stacked socks and all!! Have fun love, Shan
LMBO!!!! I can guarantee you this would be the exact conversation my dh and I would have if we ever went to a dress up party like this. We don't do dress up parties though.....
OMG!!! Will you please, please, please buy one of those oversized buttons and use it as a prize on here? I need one for my jean jacket!!!
Sounds like fun!!!
I am so jealous!! I was a Donnie fan myself. I had a Donnie poster in my room that had a "faded spot" over his mouth from me kissing it so much. (Awww-kward) Oh wait are we still doing the biggest dork stories? So you rock on girl and don't be afraid to sport the acid washed, zipper ankle guess jeans with a nice oversized Esprit sweatshirt. Don't forget the 4 swatch watches though!
I am so jelous! I've loved NKOTB since they 1st came out...when was that 1986!?! My best friend just gave me their new album for my birthday a couple weeks ago.
Blow Joey a kiss for me? If Jordan's wearing anything related to Batman laugh at him as hard as you can.
Have fun!
YEAH! I will be there too! My sister and I even bought some old school shirts to wear! YEAH! We are so excited! Maybe we'll see you there! :)
That would be cool! Look for me :)
I loved Jordan too! I also wasn't allowed to go 'back in the day'. Have fun!!
