Almost There!

"Thank you" to everyone for your prayers, support and donations! We are excited to report that Dakota is very close to getting enough for her operation!! We are only $300 away from having all of the money. That is far beyond what I imagined we could reach. How silly of me to put a limit on what God can do!

Thank you to MomDot.com and The Posh Parent for rallying the troops! I know that there have been problems with the Paypal link, but you have been so sweet in your efforts to help us out. I feel completely loved and am confident that we will have the rest by tomorrow. I am putting the matter in God's hands and trusting.

My husband is forcing me to go see New Kids. He does not want to hear about how I missed out on them, for another 15 years! He says that if I don;t go, it will be wasting our money...and as hard as I've worked to get money today, it would be a sin. So I'm trying to put my stress aside and get into the New Kids spirit. I will secretly be worrying about the surgery though (don't tell Daniel, okay?

This day has been a true roller coaster and I feel like I can see the end in sight. I thank you all, so emphatically, for the love you have shown us. I cannot fully express the gratitude I am feeling.

At this very moment, I am waiting to hear about the condition of our rescue Greyhound, Ryder. We took her to the vet this afternoon because she was limping and her "ankle" looked swollen. They were going to do x-rays and bloodwork. When I called an hour ago, they said they had no diagnosis yet, but she would either be sent home or to "another hospital."

I am a nervous wreck. Unfortunately, we can't afford much either... and I'm worried to death about what they have found.

My husband just brought Ryder home. The bill was for $827 and we don't even have a diagnosis yet! Blood and urine samples are being sent for overnight analysis. We have special food and meds. However, my husband told the vet that if anything else is required, we will have to put Ryder to sleep, because we cannot afford any more (my husband is retired, we live on a fixed income). Ryder is only 6 years old. All I ask for are prayers.

Gosh, it has been a rough (ruff?) doggy week. I just got back from the vet with our rescued min pin, Rusty. We think he has an ankle sprain that will either 1) Heal on it's own or 2) require surgery. Dagnabbit. We've got meds and will keep him quiet in his crate over the weekend and pray it heals.

For all you non-pet owners, we seem like freaks, I know. But they truly are members of our families.

My prayers are with Dakota and Ryder's families!

Bridget, you and your sister SO TOTALLY ROCK! :o)

That is great news Kadi! I'm sorry that I couldn't make a donation for the surgery at this time, but am so happy to hear of all of those that could help.

I am soooo jealous that you are seeing New Kids tonight! I really wanted to go myself, but the closest to me was Atlanta and that just wasn't going to work out. I hope you have a wonderful time.

Prayers for Dakota and your family and how generous of everyone to rally together to help you! I hope you had fun at NKOTB and got to relax and enjoy a little bit! I work in a vet clinic so I know how things can definitely get expensive. Look forward to hearing a good update on your pup's status.
